The British Embassy in Bishkek is seeking a full-time Corporate Services Officer - Estates to join our small, high-performing corporate services team. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operational management of the Embassy estate, including the Embassy building, the Ambassador’s residence, health and safety compliance, and transport services. The successful candidate will oversee project delivery, routine maintenance of Embassy properties, and their preparation for staff arrivals and departures. In addition, the job holder will manage estates support staff and coordinate outsourced service providers to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment for all staff. What will you be expected to achieve? Estates Operations (60%) - Monitor and respond to estates work requests for the Embassy office, HM Ambassador’s residence, and four UK-based residential properties, maintaining a planned preventative works register and schedule.
- Manage day-to-day activities of support teams (including third-party contractors), acting as the first point of escalation for staff queries and ensuring high-quality customer service aligned with the Corporate Services Charter.
- Supervise projects (with CSM approval), including preventative and reactive works, ensuring compliance with UK and local standards.
- Deliver minor work packages, including technical drawings, contract documentation, and preparation/maintenance of annual maintenance contracts.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver the acquisition and disposal of rented properties used by the mission.
- Request payments and monitor maintenance budgets in coordination with the Corporate Services Manager, Finance Officer, Estates Directorate, Technical Works Officer, and Technical Works Supervisor.
- Manage the vehicle fleet, including maintenance and replacement activities.
- Maintain accurate records in the Embassy Estate Records Management system.
- Support the CSM/Post Security Manager with routine security checks (where applicable).
Health & Safety (20%) - Work closely with RTL and TWS to manage Health & Safety issues, ensuring compliance with UK and local legislation.
- Implement Health & Safety policies, deliver training, and uphold standards.
- Act as the appointed Health & Safety and Fire Safety Coordinator.
Compliance (10%) - Ensure estates procurement is effectively managed and compliant with FCDO policy, working with the Procurement Hub and relevant technical functions.
- Manage inventory and warehouse stock.
- Conduct and document property inspections and hazard risk assessments for residential and office estates.
- Maintain and verify estates systems and data regularly.
- Prepare for and respond to audit requests.
- Maintain up-to-date inventories for UKB accommodation and the HM Ambassador’s Residence.
- Supervise external visitors and workers when necessary.
Team Support (5%) - Assist other members of the Corporate Services team as required.
- Take part in different Embassy committees.
- Participate in Post Crisis activity.
Line Management (5%) - Line manages one S1L drivers.
